i always find myself getting caught in the middle

like a burst of deep breath, mind caught in the riddle.

and what follows is that i get swallowed

by the massive mouths that occur in between.

I’m in a war, dunno who I’m fighting for

I’m in a war, a few minutes and I’m out the door.

with myself, with my ways, with this never-ending maze

i neglect, i behave, powers that be have it arranged.

i can only be so much, i never aim to impress

but the “between” has put me in distress.

a lot to learn, some room to grow
